BLUEPRINTS PLUS EXPANDS HORIZONS WITH NEW OWNER

Local Reprographics Firm Extends National And International Reach As Part Of American Reprographics Company

Boise, ID (September 01, 2008) – It’s not every day when a small company with local roots and twenty eight years of experience gets to reinvent itself as a global player, but that’s just what Mike Mahan, Idaho Operations Manager of Blueprint Plus, intends to do.

“We’ve got a lot of architects and other building professionals here in Boise that work all over the nation, and in some cases, all over the world,” says Mahan. “So with the technology, contacts, combined experience and financial stability of ARC behind us, I’ve literally started thinking globally,” says Mahan.

It’s not hard to see why.

Last week, Blueprints Plus plugged into the world’s largest reprographics company when American Reprographics Company (NYSE: ARP) acquired the business.

Reprographics is the business of managing, distributing and reproducing on-demand construction-related plans and other documents, as well as providing services to industries with similar document management and specialty digital printing needs.

American Reprographics Company (ARC), headquartered in Walnut Creek, CA, is the nation’s leading provider of reprographics services and technology, with nearly $700 million in annual revenues reported in 2007.

The company also designs and develops some of the world’s most well-used construction document management software, and connects each of its more than 300 locations via a digital network that spans both oceans.

“While we have been a local mainstay, so many of our customers work around the country, so the shift isn’t so much about working remotely, but rather the scale of that idea,” Mahan says. “With ARC’s business partnerships in China, Dubai, India, Australia, and Europe at our disposal, our idea of how far outside of Boise we can service our customers has expanded enormously!”

While the local construction market has paced the slowing economy nationwide, Mahan thinks the new influx of energy, resources and experience can make a big difference, now and in the future. .

“We continue to see tremendous opportunities in Boise today,” he says. “But with ARC behind us, we’re now prepared to grow into the future.”

He cites being able to offer training and new employment opportunities to his staff, the introduction of new technologies developed by ARC into the market, leveraging color reproduction expertise to beef up his traditional black and white services, and new opportunities in supplying his clients with on-site reprographics services.

ARC pioneered the concept of placing equipment and sometimes staff in their customers’ offices more than 10 years ago, and now does so in more than 5,000 locations around the U.S.

There’s no doubt, though, that as a part of ARC, Mahan is looking in all directions for new opportunities.

“We’re going to be able to offer our clients all the services of a global reprographics firm no matter where they work,” he says.

Parent company executives are equally excited.

“Blueprints Plus is a great fit for American Reprographics,” said K. “Suri” Suriyakumar, President and CEO of American Reprographics Company. “The company is remarkably well-established in its home market, but there’s still plenty of room for growth. We’re very happy to have them on board.”
